Malaysian J-POP fans, get ready! The CENTRAL MUSIC & ENTERTAINMENT FESTIVAL 2025, Japan’s latest urban festival , is set to make its Malaysian debut in Kuala Lumpur. On 26th April 2025, the vibrant sounds of Japan will come alive at Zepp Kuala Lumpur, featuring an electrifying lineup of top-tier ani-song artists, including ATARASHII GAKKO!, Tatsuya Kitani, and Creepy Nuts. This one-night-only extravaganza promises to deliver an unforgettable fusion of Japanese music, culture, and energy.
First launched in Yokohama, Japan, the CENTRAL MUSIC & ENTERTAINMENT FESTIVAL transforms cities into vibrant hubs of music and culture. The flagship event in Yokohama takes over four iconic venues—K-Arena Yokohama, Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, KT Zepp Yokohama, and Rinko Park—creating an immersive experience that celebrates the diversity of Japan’s music scene.
In 2025, CENTRAL expands its vision beyond Japan, bringing the best of Japanese music to global audiences. Following its main event in Yokohama happening from 4th to 6th April, the festival will make its way to Taipei on 19th April, before concluding its international tour in Kuala Lumpur on 26 April. The expansion highlights CENTRAL’s mission to spread the Sounds of Japan to the world, offering music lovers a truly unique and unforgettable cultural experience.
A Stellar Lineup of Japanese Music Icons
Headlining the event is ATARASHII GAKKO!, the self-proclaimed “Youth Representatives of Japan,” have taken the global stage by storm with their high-energy performances, original choreography, and genre-defying sound. Their viral hit “Otona Blue” propelled them to international fame, culminating in a show-stopping performance at Coachella 2024. Known for their bold stage presence and dynamic style, ATARASHII GAKKO! are set to bring their infectious energy and unique flair to Kuala Lumpur, promising a performance that is as unforgettable as it is unpredictable.
Joining them is Tatsuya Kitani, a multi-talented artist who rose to fame through online music platforms and has since become a household name in the anime and music worlds. Best known for his heartfelt anime theme songs, including “Where Our Blue Is” from Jujutsu Kaisen, Kitani’s soulful voice and poignant lyrics have earned him a loyal global fanbase.
Rounding out the lineup is Japan’s most celebrated hip-hop duo, Creepy Nuts, featuring rapper R-Shitei and DJ Matsunaga. With chart-topping hits like “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” amassing over 700 million streams, the duo is set to bring an explosive mix of rap and turntablism performance to Kuala Lumpur, ensuring an electrifying night to the Malaysians crowd.
