Hidden Market Raya: A Weekend Gathering at LaLaport BBCC
This March, LOCCO and LaLaport BBCC are hosting the Hidden Market Raya, a three-day event designed to bring people together for Raya preparations and community activities. Held at the mall's rooftop, the market offers a relaxed space to shop, eat, and spend time outdoors.

Event Details
Dates: Friday to Sunday, 6 – 8 March 2026
Time: 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Location: Central Rooftop Garden, LaLaport BBCC
What to Expect
The market features 40 vendors offering a variety of essentials for the upcoming season. The selection focuses on local businesses across several categories:
Clothing & Accessories: A range of Raya fashion and jewelry.
Home & Personal Care: Basic essentials and self-care products.
Food: Traditional Kuih Raya and various desserts.

Raya RELoved
A dedicated section of the market, Raya RELoved, focuses on circular fashion. You can find pre-owned clothing and personal items from local artists and personalities like Aina Abdul, Sherry Alhadad, Imran Ajmain, Malia, and Nazrief Nazri. It’s a practical way to find quality festive wear while giving these items a second life.

Community Picnic Iftar
On Saturday, 7 March, there will be a community Iftar starting from 6:00 PM. Unlike a typical restaurant setting, this is an open picnic on the rooftop lawn.

What to bring: Attendees are encouraged to bring their own picnic mats and tiffin carriers.
What is provided: Free-flow drinks will be available throughout the evening.
Admission: There is no registration fee or entry charge for the picnic.
Activities and Atmosphere
Beyond the shopping stalls, the event includes:

Workshops: Small group sessions for hands-on activities.
Live Music: Performances scheduled throughout the evening to provide a background for the market.
Outdoor Space: The rooftop garden offers a view of the city, making it a good spot for families to gather as the sun sets.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. Where exactly is the Central Rooftop Garden?
The garden is located on Level 4 of LaLaport BBCC. You can access it via the mall's lifts or via the Grand Steps (the large outdoor space with the big stairs).
2. Do I need to pay for entry?
No, entry to the Hidden Market Raya and the Picnic Iftar is completely free. You only pay for what you purchase from the vendors.
3. How do I get there via public transport?
Public transport is the most convenient way to reach us:
LRT / Monorail: Take the train to Hang Tuah Station. There is a direct pedestrian link that leads you straight into the mall.
MRT: Take the MRT to the Merdeka Station. It is a roughly 10-minute walk to reach LaLaport.
4. What are the parking options?
You can park within the LaLaport BBCC basement car park. As a reminder, parking is currently FREE for all visitors to the mall after 5PM. There are ample bays available, but we recommend arriving early on Saturday and Sunday as it may get busier toward the evening.
5. Can I bring my own food for the Picnic Iftar?
Yes! We encourage a "Bring Your Own Tiffin" concept. While there will be food vendors on-site, you are more than welcome to bring your own home-cooked meals or takeaway to enjoy on the lawn.
6. Will there be prayer facilities (Surau)?
Yes, LaLaport has dedicated Surau facilities located on Level 3 and Level LG1. The Level 3 Surau is conveniently close to the Rooftop Garden for those attending the Iftar.
7. What happens if it rains?
Since the Central Rooftop Garden is an outdoor venue, some activities may be affected by heavy rain. However, the vendor stalls are sheltered, and there are covered walkways nearby to wait out any passing showers.
8. Is the event pet-friendly?
The Central Rooftop Garden area generally follows the mall's standard guidelines. Pets are not allowed within the premises of the mall.
9. Are there chairs provided for the Iftar?
The "Picnic Iftar" is designed to be a lawn-seating event to accommodate more people. We won't be providing chairs on the grass to keep the space open, so bringing a picnic mat or a small foldable cushion is highly recommended if you plan to stay for the evening.
10. Is the rooftop wheelchair and stroller accessible?
Yes. There are elevators that go directly to Level 4. The garden has flat, paved walkways that allow for easy navigation around the vendor stalls and the lawn area.
11. What kind of "free flow" drinks will be available?
Free-flow drinks for the “Bring Your Own Tiffin” Picnic will include refreshing iced drinks and plain drinking water. Drinks will be available at designated stations only on 7 March 2026 (Saturday) from 6:00 PM onwards, while stocks last. Participants are encouraged to bring their own tumblers to help reduce plastic waste. If you're looking to get a tumbler on-site, you may consider:
Goom, Montigo, The Green Party, 3COINS, DAISO, NITORI, Miniso Friends, Mr. DIY, Objet
12. Do vendors accept cashless payments?
Most, if not all, of our 40 curated vendors will accept DuitNow QR or e-wallets (GrabPay, TNG). However, since the rooftop is an open space, it’s always a good idea to have a bit of cash on hand just in case of any intermittent signal issues with payment terminals.
13. Can I still join the Iftar if I don’t have a tiffin?
Tiffins don’t have to be the expensive metal ones. The objective of this Iftar picnic is to break fast in a more sustainable setting. You’re welcome to bring any type of food container you already have, as long as it’s reusable and not single-use plastic waste. You may check out these stores for food containers:
3COINS, DAISO, NITORI, Metrojaya, Miniso Friends, Mr. DIY, Objet
